On the afternoon of May 15th, the Academic Affairs Office of South-Central Minzu University held the "Digital Intelligence Empowering Education and Teaching Innovation Training Series" conference in Building 9 of the School of Computer Science. The event invited Ma Xinyu, the course project director of the Hubei branch of Chaoxing Group, as the guest expert. The event also invited Geng Liang, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, Jiang Yemei from Chaoxing Company, and faculty members from the School of Computer Science. The meeting was chaired by Tian Wei, Vice Dean of the School of Computer Science.  

Geng Liang introduced the current progress of smart course development at the university. He also emphasized the institution’s strong commitment and comprehensive measures in  promoting the deep integration of artificial intelligence technology with education and teaching, exploring innovative teaching models and future learning methods, as well as empowering education and teaching through digital transformation.  

Ma Xinyu shared detailed insights into the new features of the smart course platform, such as AI teaching assistants, inspirational learning assistants, and intelligent agents, demonstrating their practical applications in teaching. She also explained the design and implementation methods of course knowledge graphs and competency graphs, using real-world examples. From the instructor’s perspective, she discussed how to help students effectively utilize tools like the learning companion assistant to enhance their studies and expand learning channels. She emphasized that the use of digital teaching tools can significantly improve teaching efficiency and optimize students’ learning experiences, representing a key trend in the future of education. The session concluded with an in-depth discussion between Ma Xinyu and the faculty attending the training.  

This training was one of the key initiatives by the university to advance the digital transformation of education and teaching. Through this conference, faculty members not only gained an understanding of the latest features of the smart course platform but also learned how to leverage digital tools to optimize course design and enhance teaching effectiveness. The university will continue its deep collaboration with Chaoxing Company to explore new approaches in smart course development, improve instructors’ digital teaching capabilities, drive innovation in education and teaching, and further deepen educational reforms. These efforts aim to provide teachers and students with higher-quality teaching resources and an improved learning experience.
